Stories

P1010684

I have 3 sets of cards with random but themed pictures that lend themselves to making up a story. You choose from the deck and you and your child make up a story. We did this in class and drew a picture at the end. Each student got a card and then we laid them down one by one as each child added to the story. The order was teacher, safi, will, brinley, sam, rylee, mabelle, karyssa, cassidy. Heres what they came up with...

Once upon a time there was an old wise owl who told this story. There was a princess who lost her key and lock. The animals helped her look. It was her birthday but she didnt eat the cake cuz she was busy looking. After the party was over they were tired. The racoon secretly found the key. Then he gave it to her and she used it to make a wand to make clouds. Then the fish found the lock. The clouds she made rained!

One day a donkey was making a trip along the path to town with all his goods. It was a beautiful sunny day for a walk. Suddenly a dragon popped out and breathed fire on the donkey. The donkey took a key from his basket and locked the dragons mouth so he couldnt breath fire. The donkey stopped to eat some plants along the path. Then he noticed a cave and thought the princess must be trapped in there. So he told the king in the village. But it turned out the princess wasnt trapped in the cave, she was in the tower reading. It was really the prince who had been turned into a frog who was trapped in the cave.

One day there was candy all over the table. There was also a game on the table. It was robots birthday. His mom was getting everything set up for the party. Even the birthday cake! Robots friend won the game and got the candy as a prize. Then they plugged in the vacuum to clean up. And the dog wanted to help clean too. Then when the party was over robots friend flew home.

Abigayle in the Spotlight

Abigayle Ilene Pack:

Abigayle Ilene Pack was born on March 2, 2006. Abby is the oldest of two; she has a little brother, Carson who is 18 months old. Abby is a very imaginative little girl.  She loves to get dressed up and play "princess." Abby loves to play with friends, read stories, play games, sing songs, and sign. She is (and always has been) a nurturer; I'll often hear her while playing with her dolls say, "oh! Sweetie..."  She is always very caring of her little brother (which at times can be a little much for him. ;) ) Abby is also a very quick learner.  She can hear a song once and get the tune right and some of the words.  Just today she learned "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." She picks other things up really quickly too, but if it's in a song format...she is a sponge! Abby is a very curious little girl.  Often while driving I'll hear her from the back say "tell me about that mommy."  Once she asked me to tell her about the "wires," it took me a while to figure out she meant the telephone wires. :) We are so luck to have Abby in our little famiy.  She is such a fun little girl!!!
